In dem VMAN Editorial „PATTI + ROBERT“ posen Freja Beha Erichsen und Christian Brylle als das Paar der späten 60er: Robert Mapplethorpe und Patti Smith. Der damals noch fast unbekannte Mapplethorpe lernte die ebenfalls noch unbekannte Smith in New York kennen und lieben.
Robert Mapplethorpe starb Ende der 80er an den Folgen von AIDS.
